Waterproof Bracelets, Built to Live In

The bracelet is the piece you take off the most. Shower, gym, sleep — most men's bracelets come off three or four times a day, get scratched on a nightstand, get lost in a hotel sink. Monrich waterproof bracelets are built to stay on. Every piece is 18K gold PVD plating bonded to a solid base of stainless steel or sterling silver at a molecular level. The plating is rated for shower, pool, sea, gym and sleep. The clasp is the same material as the band. There is nothing on the bracelet that wants to come off your wrist.

ID Bars, Cuban Links, Beaded, Engraved

The waterproof range spans the four core men's bracelet shapes. The ID bar is the heritage piece — a flat plate with the option to engrave a name, date or coordinates. The Cuban link bracelet is the chunkier wrist version of the Cuban chain, 6mm to 10mm. Beaded bracelets bring colour and texture — onyx, lava stone, tiger eye, paired with a single gold bead. Leather-and-gold bracelets layer a braided leather cord with a polished gold magnetic clasp. All four shapes are tarnish-free and hypoallergenic.

18K Gold PVD, Not Painted Gold

The cheap end of the UK men's bracelet market is painted gold over zinc alloy. It fades in weeks, turns the wrist green, and the clasp snaps. The mid-market is electroplated stainless steel — better, but the gold layer is thin and lifts at the clasp edge first. Monrich uses Physical Vapor Deposition: a process that bonds real 18K gold to the stainless or silver base in a vacuum chamber, with the gold layer fused at the molecular level. The bond is five to ten times more durable than standard plating, the layer is thick enough to take daily contact with skin, water and gym chalk, and the colour stays true for years.

Pair With a Chain, a Ring or a Second Bracelet

The waterproof bracelet stacks well. Run a thin beaded bracelet alongside an ID bar on the same wrist, or split a Cuban link across one wrist and a leather-and-gold on the other. Pair the wrist piece with a matching waterproof chain so both sit through the same shower, or extend the waterproof set with a waterproof ring on the little finger. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Monrich bracelets really waterproof?
Yes. Every piece uses 18K gold PVD plating bonded to a solid stainless steel or sterling silver base at a molecular level. The gold layer does not lift, the base does not rust, the clasp does not corrode. Rated for shower, pool, sea, gym and sleep.
What size should I order?
Most Monrich bracelets are adjustable from 18cm to 22cm — the average male wrist sits at 19cm to 20cm. For non-adjustable pieces (ID bars, Cuban links), measure your wrist with a tape and add 1.5cm for a comfortable fit, 2.5cm for a looser drape. Full sizing on the size guide.
Will it set off airport metal detectors?
Generally no. Both 18K gold PVD-plated stainless steel and sterling silver are non-magnetic and pass through modern airport scanners without triggering. The clasp is the same material. Heavier pieces (10mm+ Cuban) might catch a wand on close inspection.
Can I personalise it?
Yes. ID bars and Cuban links can be engraved with a name, date, or coordinates at checkout. The engraving is laser-cut into the metal — it does not fade with the plating.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Every bracelet is hypoallergenic. The base metals — sterling silver and surgical-grade stainless steel — do not contain nickel in skin-contact surfaces. PVD seals the surface chemistry.
What is the difference between PVD plating and gold-filled?
Gold-filled bonds a thick gold layer via heat and pressure — about 5% gold by weight, very durable, expensive. PVD-plated uses vapour deposition to bond a thinner but molecularly tight gold layer — durable for daily wear, more affordable. Monrich uses PVD because it gives the right balance of durability and price for the daily-wear category. Neither is solid gold.
