Signet Birthstone Rings for Men, the Signet With a Stone

The signet with a stone is the personalised signet that does not need engraving. Each month of the year carries a traditional birthstone — garnet for January, amethyst for February, ruby for July, sapphire for September, turquoise for December — and the stone carries the personalisation without a word being cut into the metal. Monrich birthstone signet rings set a single stone into the signet face, bezel-set inside a metal collar that wraps the full circumference of the stone. The setting is mechanical, not glued. The stone is natural, except where a cubic zirconia substitute is used for the April diamond birthstone.

Twelve Stones, One Per Month

The twelve birthstones cover the full year. January garnet (deep red). February amethyst (purple). March aquamarine (pale blue). April diamond — Monrich uses laboratory-grown cubic zirconia, real crystal with diamond-cut faceting (a natural diamond at this stone size would price the ring above £400). May emerald (green). June pearl or moonstone (white-grey shimmer). July ruby (red). August peridot (yellow-green). September sapphire (deep blue). October opal or tourmaline (multi-colour). November citrine or topaz (yellow-orange). December turquoise or tanzanite (blue-green or blue-purple).

Bezel-Set Into 18K Gold PVD Signet

The bezel setting is the most secure setting for a single-stone ring designed for daily wear. The metal collar wraps the full circumference of the stone, holding it from all sides rather than from above with prongs. The setting is tested to industry standard — the stone does not fall out under normal wear. The metal frame and the bezel are both 18K gold PVD plated over sterling silver or surgical-grade stainless steel. The plating runs over the bezel as part of the same PVD process, so the metal tone reads as a single piece end-to-end.

For Birthday, Anniversary, or Self

The birthstone signet is the second most-gifted ring at Monrich (after the engraved personalised signet). Worn by men carrying the birthstone of a child, a partner, a parent, or themselves. Pair the birthstone signet with a plain stacking band on the same hand for balance, or wear solo on the little finger as the single visible statement. For non-birthstone signet options, see the blank signet collection.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What stones are used?
Twelve birthstones, one per month: January garnet, February amethyst, March aquamarine, April diamond (cubic zirconia substitute), May emerald, June pearl or moonstone, July ruby, August peridot, September sapphire, October opal or tourmaline, November citrine or topaz, December turquoise or tanzanite. Natural stones except where noted as cubic zirconia substitute.
Are the stones real?
Most birthstones are natural — cut from natural mined stone, with the imperfections that come with that. The April birthstone uses cubic zirconia as a diamond substitute (a real diamond at this size would price the ring at £400+). All stones are mechanically bezel-set, not glued.
Will the stone fall out?
No. Bezel setting wraps a metal collar around the full circumference of the stone, holding it from all sides. Tested to industry standard. We replace any stone loss within 24 months.
Can I get an additional engraving around the stone?
Yes — initials, date, monogram around the bezel. Add to the engraving field at checkout. £5 surcharge.
Is the birthstone signet waterproof?
The metal and the setting are waterproof — PVD plating covers the bezel. Most natural birthstones are also water-safe, but soft stones (opal, pearl) prefer not to be submerged for long periods. The cubic zirconia April stone is fully waterproof.
Are birthstone rings only for that birth month?
By tradition yes — many men wear their own birthstone, or the birthstone of a partner, parent or child. No rule though; pick the stone by colour and meaning if the birthday calendar does not match.
